When on the phone, it’s easy to just dismiss a notification and not even process it, but when it comes up on your computer screen and you have to think about it for a second, you wonder why that notification is needed in the first place. We liked this feature, and it made us rethink some of the updates that we receive and how much they actually are used. When you get a message that you don’t want to forget to respond to, you can leave the notification on your phone for when you grab it later. (This feature comes with a caveat we’ll discuss.) So all of that unimportant stuff can be wiped away before you ever pick your phone up again.

Pushbullet is the silver bullet to solve the notification issue, pushing the updates from your phone’s screen to your desktop. But if your phone is buried in your pocket or sitting at an inconvenient distance (which if you get as lazy as we occasionally do, means anything out of arm’s reach), the flashing light and beep of activity can compel you out of your comfortable position. Getting notifications and being able to stay current on the things that matter to you is great.
